Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the NotebookLM : All in One Productivity Tool Chrome Extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We believe in local-first software. The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. All processing happens locally on your device within your browser.
- We do not use analytics trackers.
- We do not monitor your browsing history.
- We do not have access to your Google account or NotebookLM data on our servers.
2. How We Use Browser Permissions
To provide its core functionality, the Extension requires certain browser permissions. Here is exactly how they are used:
- Storage: Used strictly to save your local preferences (like dark mode settings, custom folders, and saved prompts) directly on your device.
- ActiveTab & Scripting: Used to extract text from the specific page you are currently viewing (e.g., Reddit, Google Docs, Claude.ai) only when you explicitly click the "Send to NotebookLM" button.
- ContextMenus: Used to add the "Send to NotebookLM" option when you right-click on a webpage.
3. Third-Party Services
The Extension interacts with third-party websites (like NotebookLM, Reddit, Google Docs, and Claude.ai) by reading the Document Object Model (DOM) to extract text or inject user interface elements (like floating buttons). We do not use their APIs in a way that transmits your data to us. Your interactions with those sites are governed by their respective privacy policies.
4. Data Security
Because all data remains on your local device, the security of your data is tied to the security of your computer and browser. We recommend keeping your browser updated and securing your device.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions or suggestions about our Privacy Policy, please contact the developer via the Chrome Web Store support tab.
